About Ayanna
I’m Ayanna—a proud Afro-Latina, mom, wife, and disabled veteran. With over a decade of experience in People Operations, DEI, and mental health advocacy, I’ve dedicated my career to building inclusive workplaces and spaces where historically marginalized people can show up fully, heal deeply, and lead boldly.
I’ve served in both federal government and private sector HR leadership roles, including working with the White House and other executive agencies on equity-centered initiatives. Today, I lead a consulting practice where I provide fractional HR leadership and strategic people operations support to mission-driven organizations. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed practices, systems thinking, and a deep belief in the power of culture to drive meaningful change.
A partnership with MTV Entertainment Studios on youth mental health storytelling led me to cofound Hidden Healers—a community and resource hub for organizers, advocates, and changemakers who are holding space for others while navigating their own healing.
I’m also the creator and host of Sazón y Corazón, a podcast that blends real talk, lived experience, and a whole lot of heart—because everything I do comes with seasoning and soul.
I believe healing is a revolutionary act—and that emotional intelligence, equity, and belonging are not just ideals, but essential skills for leadership and liberation.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me cheering from the sidelines at the soccer field, caring for my houseplants, walking my dogs, or getting lost in a good book.
