About Ayanna

Ayanna is a proud Afro-Latina, mom, wife, and disabled veteran. She is the founder of Equitable Edge, an HR & DEI Consultancy Firm where she is on a mission to create safe spaces for historically marginalized people to heal and be themselves unapologetically and be celebrated for it. Ayanna uses her experience in HR, DEI, and mental health advocacy to teach others the importance of healing, addressing biases and systemic barriers, and emotional intelligence.

In addition to over a decade of HR and DEI experience, Ayanna has had the opportunity to work with MTV Entertainment Studios on mental health digital content specifically focused on youth mental health and the uplifting the experiences of BIPOC and other marginalized peoples.

After speaking at the White House for the Biden-Harris Administration, Ayanna founded Sazón y Corazón Productions which is home of Sazón y Corazón podcast which means seasoning and heart in Spanish. That’s exactly how Ayanna shows in everything she does - with some seasoning and so much heart.

“I didn’t know I could heal myself until I learned mental health impacts millions and I’m not alone. I’m doing this for the Black and Brown kids who don’t know where they can go or who they can turn to.” ~ Ayanna on mental health advocacy

In her spare time, you'll catch her at the soccer field with her first born, tending to her houseplants, walking her dogs, and reading as many books as possible.
